Understanding Payment Fees
What Stripe charges to process a rent payment, and how it affects what lands in your account.
LeaseLoop doesn't take a cut of rent payments made through the platform. When a tenant pays online, Stripe (our payment processor) still charges its standard processing fee, which comes out of the payment before it reaches you - the same as it would with any other online payment processor.
The rates
- Card: 2.9% + $0.30 per payment
- Bank transfer (ACH): 0.8% per payment, capped at $5
What that looks like
On $1,500 rent, a card payment costs about $43.80 in fees, while a bank transfer costs about $5. Worth factoring into how you set rent, or worth mentioning to tenants if you'd like to encourage bank transfer over card.
